Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day today. It was a very rough day today with higher seas than expected which made fishing a little bit slower than it has been, but we still managed to put a decent catch together. We had porgies, sea bass, about a half dozen cod and some blues in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Edgar Clavel of Little Neck NY with a 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Correa Raloudo of Manhattan with an 8lb bluefish.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports another very good day of porgy fishing today. The porgy bite is on with lots of them in big sizes coming over the rail. We also had a few sea bass up to about 4lbs. We also had a handful of keeper cod. Today’s pool winner was Michael Smith from Valley Stream with a JUMBO 4lb porgy.

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today. It was a mixed bag with mostly porgies, some really nice sea bass up to 4lbs and about 10 keeper cod. Today’s first place pool winner was Charlie Goines of the Bronx with a 3.5lb porgy and in second was Rob Battaglia of Floral Park with an 11lb cod.

Everyone was pretty close their limit with some really nice sized porgies. We also had a few big sea bass and about 15 keeper cod up to about 12lbs. Today’s pool winner was Joshua of NY with a 3.75lb porgy.

The dogs were around today and were a little bit of a bother, but we did manage to get some porgies, sea bass and cod. We had a pick of bass and big blues off the radar to start when that died we moved around to the light and had 3 killer drifts with bass, scup and blues. John Minton took the pool with a 19lber Matt Stanton took 2nd with a 16lber. Night Striped Bass Capt Ant reports a bluefish Bonanza on the bass boat and they were BIG. We had most of the flood and could not get through the blues. We picked a few bass at the rip but it died with the tide once we got ebb we found a pile and weeded through more blues and put some bass on the boat. Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today. We stopped midway and had a good steady pick of mostly smaller sized porgies, and then made our way to Block and picked up some nice cod, jumbo porgies and a few sea bass. We moved again and had 2 really great drifts for sea bass and then the rest of the afternoon was a little quiet. All in all it was an okay day and everyone left happy. Today’s pool winner was David Lee of Flushing with a 3.75 lb porgy.

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain reports a bit of a slow day today in Block Island. The porgy bite was a bit off, but the ones we managed to get were a very nice size. We also had some really nice size sea bass, and a few keeper cod in the mix. A big thanks to Harvey Broadnax and gang from Michigan who fished with us for 2 days in a row and caught a bunch of fish!
