Night Striped Bass

Capt Ant reports a bluefish Bonanza on the bass boat and they were BIG. We had most of the flood and could not get through the blues. We picked a few bass at the rip but it died with the tide once we got ebb we found a pile and weeded through more blues and put some bass on the boat. Pool winner John Allen from Hackettstown, NJ with a 17lbs Second place Jason Fox from Verona, NY with a 15lber
2 Night Tuna

Capt Carl reports a great 2 night tuna trip on the Viking Star! After a long blow of weather, we finally were able to get out. We got out the first night and about a half hour of vein. On anchor Jay Ziggy hooked up, battled, and won against an estimated 230 lb Big Eye Tuna! Congrats Jay! After that, we picked up just a few Longfin and missed a couple bites. The following day we were able to troll up some more Longfin and a few mahi. We then anchored up and not a half hour went by and Larry Carrella hooked up to a nice swordfish and fought him brilliantly to the boat and we got it in, estimated around 120 lbs! Excellent job Larry! While high fiving and congratulating Larry, Zach Weiner hooked into another monster! After a great battle, we put another huge Big Eye in the boat! Congrats Zach! His fish was estimated at 240 lbs! We picked some more Albies after that, and then Tommy Alexopolous hooked and landed another beauty swordfish estimated around 140 lbs! We had one more bigger swordfish on that night, but that one got away. All in all a good trip with some awesome trophy fish and plenty of meat for everyone!

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass
Captain Dave reports an okay day today aboard the Viking Starship. It was quality over quantity today with really nice fish across the board. We had some porgies, a few sea bass and about 20 keeper cod. Today’s first place pool winner was Sandy Emanuel from Manhattan with a 4lb porgy and in second place was Dalton Brown of Amityville with a 22lb cod.
