Saturday November 9

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports another good day of fishing despite today’s rough weather. We had a nice catch of mixed size porgies and sea bass up to 6lbs. We also had a few cod in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Zoran Milosevic of Middle Villiage with a 3.5lb porgy, and in second place was Shirley Danne of Queens with a 12lb cod. Wednesday October 30

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports as he did yesterday that it is PORGY TIME!!! We had lots of really big porgies today. We went looking for the sea bass and ended up with a decent catch of pretty nice sized fish up to 6lbs. We did have some blues and about a half dozen cod in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Mark Rafferty of Medford with a JUMBO 4.75 lb porgy and in second place was Ron Stehn of Combs Bait and Tackle with a 15lb cod.

Friday October 25

Night Striped Bass Capt Ant reports the Night Bass was Like fishing the desert. We got our butts kicked as the wind never laid down. The pool winner Robert Garfinkel from Wantagh, NY Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day considering the rough conditions. We had nicer sized fish today, mostly porgies, a handful of sea bass from 2-5lbs and about a dozen keeper cod. Today’s first place pool winner was Matthew Chmil of Flushing with a nice 4lb porgy, and in second place was Joe Cilla of Walden NY with a 10lb cod. Wednesday October 23

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports another bit of a slow day today. Though what we did manage to get were really nice quality fish! Everyone was pretty close their limit with some really nice sized porgies. We also had a few big sea bass and about 15 keeper cod up to about 12lbs. Today’s pool winner was Joshua of NY with a 3.75lb porgy.

Tuesday October 22

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a bit of a slow day today. The dogs were around today, but we still had a decent catch of porgies. We also had a few sea bass and about a dozen keeper cod. Today’s first place pool winner was Alphonso Akin of Amityville with a 3lb porgy and in second was Phil Mcrackin of West Islip with a 10lb cod.

Monday October 21

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a bit of a slower day today than we have had this past week. The dogs were around today and were a little bit of a bother, but we did manage to get some porgies, sea bass and cod. Today’s first place winner was Donald Moy of Manhattan with a 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Jim Brown of Amityville with a 15lb cod.

Friday October 18

Capt Ant Apologizes for the delayed report but here we go on the bass front: Fridays Pm Jig Trip was Excellent. We had a pick of bass and big blues off the radar to start when that died we moved around to the light and had 3 killer drifts with bass, scup and blues. John Minton took the pool with a 19lber Matt Stanton took 2nd with a 16lber. Thursday October 17

Night Striped Bass Capt Ant reports a bluefish Bonanza on the bass boat and they were BIG. We had most of the flood and could not get through the blues. We picked a few bass at the rip but it died with the tide once we got ebb we found a pile and weeded through more blues and put some bass on the boat. Pool winner John Allen from Hackettstown, NJ with a 17lbs Second place Jason Fox from Verona, NY with a 15lber 2 Night Tuna Capt Carl reports a great 2 night tuna trip on the Viking Star! Wednesday October 16

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a bit of a slower day today due to the east winds. It started out with some smaller sized fish than what we have been getting, so we moved to find the bigger ones. And we found them, but it was quality over quantity today. What we managed to get was a nicer sized. We only had a few sea bass today and also about a dozen keeper cod up to 15lbs. Today’s first place pool winner was Randy from Jersey City with a 4lb porgy and in second was Benjamin Barajas of Queens with a 15lb cod.

Tuesday October 15

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We had a good pick of mixed sized porgies, as well as a couple stripers in the mix. We went looking for the sea bass in the afternoon  and we found mostly medium sizes but we did have a few nice ones. Today’s first place pool winner was Bill Wong of Manhattan with a 3lb porgy and in second place was Donald Moy with a 9lb striped bass.
