Viking Five Star Tuna Charter
We got back out to the edge for a 2 day trip last weekend with a group of local commercial fishermen. It was not a blood bath but still a good trip to send all the guys home with a handful of yellow fin a few mahi and a mess of northern groupers. We also had a pup sword that we released and another better sword that we pulled the hook on. It was the first trip where we started to see the yellows on the night bite which was nice to see finally. Over all a good trip with a good group of guys ans a lot of laughs. Special thanks to David Tuma from the f/v Kimberly for putting the trip together. We have a few more open boat tuna trips coming up in October as well as some trips on the Viking Star this month. Call the office for availability and booking.
Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass
Captain Dave reports another slow day today. Although it was a bit slow, we did see a bit of a nicer size in some of the fish. We had porgies and a good run on the sea bass. Today’s first place pool winner was Sangsunl Park of Flushing with a 2.5 lb porgy, and in second was Carlton Baylor of Palsboro NJ with a 5lb sea bass.
