Local Cod
Captain Steven Jr reports an excellent day on the cod grounds today! We had lots of quality cod today, with 25 fish over 15lbs and a few fish over the 20lb mark. Things started off slow in the dark with only a couple cod coming up before the sun. By mid morning we had good steady fishing with a few good shots of 20-30 fish per drift coming up. Later in the day, the fish seemed to scatter and we had a pick of a couple cod per drift. By the end of the day we put a good catch of quality cod together for everyone on board. The average angler ended up with 3-5 cod and high hook guys had 6-8 cod. Michael Fronda of Brooklyn took first place with a nice 27lb cod and in second place went to Ed Ewell of Montauk with a 22lb cod.

Things are definitely improving everyday on the cod grounds and as the fishing gets better, we will be adding more trips! So keep checking our reports and website for all schedule updates!!
