11/13 Viking Fishing Report and Updates! Sorry for the late report, but Capt. Steven Sr’s Cod and Sea Bass trip from last Saturday, 11/9 did see quite a few more Cod then we have been seeing, as well as all the Sea Bass you can catch! Evagelos Gavalas was the Cod pool winner with an 11.57 pounder. He told us that the trip was amazing! Our Daily Porgy and Sea Bass boat has also been seeing much more Cod in the mix as well, so we are excited to see some promising signs of Codfish! It seems like everyday we are seeing more green Cod show up in our local waters. Friday, Nov 15 we will be sailing on our 4AM Cod and Sea Bass limit load trip with Capt. Mon Nov 11- Ultra Limited Blackfish/Sea Bass Special
Captain Steven Sr. reports a horrible day on the Viking Star. Horrible for the fish…….great for anglers. We started the morning Blackfishing. It was close to the end of the tide and we just kept steadily picking away at some quality Blackfish. Those Jersey boys……there were four of them………. brought 14 Blackfishon board between them. They really showed us how it’s done. Close to boat limit on keeper Sea Bass. Even though not targeted on this special Veteran’s Day half price trip, we managed some keeper Cod as well. First place in the Blackfish pool went to one of those Jersey boys, Don Wetzel, from Riverdale, NJ with a 9.3 pound Blackfish. Sun Nov 10 Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass
Captain Dave reports another good day of fishing on the Viking Starship. It was a little windier and a little rougher today and the Dogfish were a minor annoyance. We had a nice mix of medium to large Porgies, quality Sea Bass and a few Cod. Most of our anglers went home with full coolers. First place in the pool went to Ignacio Castello of Queens with a 2.6 pound Porgy. Second place went to Kuen Li of Brooklyn with an 8 pound Cod. Looking forward to our special Veteran’s Day Block Island Jumbo Porgy and Knothead Sea Bass trip. Winds will be moderating overnight and warmest temperatures of the week will be tomorrow. Capt Steven Jr reports that we picked away all day and put a good trip together. The guys had their limit of Tog up to 9 lbs, a load of Seabass and half a dozen Cod! November will be SOLD OUT soon!!! Sunday 24 – Cod/Seabass/Blackfish —-2 spots Wednesday 27 – 30-50 mile wreck trip -1 spot Other then that you can give us a call to book for our December Cod/Seabass trips or check for availability for a private charter.

Sat Nov 9 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports decent fishing on the Viking Starship. There were plenty of Porgies and we had Sea Bass up to 4 lbs. We also had handful of Cod and a few Bluefish. There were very few Dogfish today. The first place pool winner was Marcia James from the Bronx with a 3.4 lb Porgy, The edible pool winner was Artie Dimakopoulos with a 13 lb Cod.
Thurs Nov 7 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. We had a decent day even though it was a bit rough and windy. We spent the day offshore catching beautiful SeaBass, Large Porgies and a bunch of Cod up to 14 lbs. The first place pool winner was Pete SeaBrooke from Kings Park, NY with a 2.7 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Norman Owens from Manhattan with a 14 lb Cod. All fishing trips are CANCELLED for tomorrow – Friday, November 8th due to the gale force winds expected.
Wed Nov 6 – 30 to 50 Mile Wreck trip – Viking Fivestar
Capt Steven Jr reports that we put together a good day of fishing the offshore wreck with a full limit of big Seabass and a nice handful of Cod. Fishing wasn’t anything crazy, but it was a steady pick of quality Seabass with a dozen fish around or over the 5 lb mark and Cod up to 19.5 lbs. Billy Combs and Uncle Ronny Johnson has the two biggest Cod at 18.5 and 19.5lbs. High hook had 4 Cod.
